  • Evening Blog Update May 22, 2024

May 22, 2024 @ 20:44 It turned out to be a gorgeous day outside, and I was able to spend quite a bit of time out there. Warm but not hot, and breezy - perfect! Pete had his PT today. I picked around in the garden, cleaned up after the dogs, got the mail…ate leftovers so didn’t have to cook. Did a LOT on my sites (as you will see from the list below!) as well as file mgmt stuff and moderating, and also some researching about a few ideas I’m tossing around in my head, to see if any of them are feasible or not. And of course what little Pete needed, he is doing most things for himself now, his PTist told me not to baby him so I don’t…though I’d like to! So I’m going to end it here, and contemplate the meaning of life for the rest of the evening, and will see you in the morning. Tomorrow will be a busy day so I doubt that I will be as prolific as was today but we shall see - at least you’ll have Don’s guest post to look forward to :). Sleep well in Jesus, my friends❣️πŸ₯±πŸ™

May 22 @ 11:15 It’s late…but it’s morning! A beautiful sunny morning! So far today I had my coffee, worked on some settings on my tablet - I love this tablet, my favorite ever! - as I have plans to use my laptop for working on the blogs and the tablet for everything else, inasmuch as I am able. Pete doesn’t have his PTist’s permission yet but he is getting around the house really well unassisted, he’s wearing the thigh-high TED hose and is stopping to elevate and ice his knee frequently, but otherwise he’s just going to town on this healing process! Oh yeah…what I’ve done today (interrupted myself)…also went out and checked on my plants and have some great news: 6 of the pots in which we planted seed on May 6th have little greenies poking through today! I don’t remember what’s in those pots but whatever it is, it’s something I wanted hahaha! AND my delicata plant, which we just bought and repotted on the 20th, has a blossom! IDK enough about planting yet to know if that means that it will get a squash but I would think it means the plant is happy here? Still resting my legs and spine which are still…well, nevermind…but I have plenty to do on my sites and in my file mgmt, as always! Supposed to be nice today too, temp is dropping and now in the upper 60s which is GREAT, I’m tired of the a/c on all the time, and the dogs want us to open the door for them to come and go in the yard! Except Maisie, maybe…she’s been staying on the ramp or the patio carpet almost 100% of the time…anyway, time to get busy and I will see you later, friendsβ£οΈβœοΈπŸŽΉπŸ•β€πŸ¦ΊπŸ¦œπŸ™ŒπŸ…πŸ₯©πŸŒ±πŸ˜†πŸšŒβ€οΈ

To be esteemed by God…the thought brings me to my spiritual knees - what a thought! For those who are proud, and mock His word..that is heart-breaking to me… Anyway I got started on this in the morning again - WOOHOO!!! Was delighted to see all the nasty storms didn’t hurt my baby plants at all although one of them looks a tad wilty. I am hoping with this morning’s sunshine he will perk up quickly. Going to try to stay off my legs again today and rest my spine…I saw “try” again because that hasn’t worked out very well for me so far hahaha! I did go out with the dogs, and got photos of all of my baby plants, may put them together into a collage or something and post, but trying to only put up the bigger photos once a week or so, so that the changes will be more obvious. I might go out to weed a little if it isn’t too hot…no, no, no, nevermind that thought, I have to rest my legs and spine today… I have Pete’s soup ready in his soup maker so when he wakes up I just have to turn it on, and I have some vegetables to add to it in the bowl. Trying to make sure he has a good protein portion every day as he heals, and I do have some collagen “shakes” on order for his healing as well…I’ll look in his freezer and see what he has meat-wise as beans aren’t on the menu yet, not until he can get around more quickly. Those are my plans for the day, and the keyboard if I can, and bird cages if I can. Oh, and please say a prayer for Maisie, she’s pretty logy this morning and didn’t want her breakfast though she did eat it once I mixed it with a spoonful of canned food. (They love that Evanger food!) Anyway, I will see you later, friends, have a terrific Tuesday❣️🌱✝️

  • 🌱 Who knew???

🌱 For the first time yesterday “I” planted flowers! Well, I actually put some flower seeds in dirt a couple of weeks ago too…but the flowers are still hiding inside the seeds. They look like pots of dirt and my imagination doesn’t see them as flowers yet. But yesterday was like a beautiful dream, but real! How I never knew what fun and how satisfying this is, in my 67 years of life, I can’t imagine. But now I know.

A few days ago our helpers, J&E, and I went to the nursery and I bought some flowers in my color scheme, which is Sunrises and Sunsets. I am picky - I don’t like pointy flowers that look like Cruella’s fingernails, for example. I’m not a fan of purples, or whites. Just as a couple of examples. So I chose carefully, always keeping my colors in mind.

Yesterday they helped me repot them, making most into little arrangements. Who knew how fulfilling that could be??? I do now… 🌱

  • Gettin' 'er DONE! 🌱

🌱 I CAN’T WAIT until it cools off outside so I can go out and take photos! J&E (our helpers that come every week - now twice a week until my husband recovers from his surgery) and I got the rest of my flowers planted, and have just enough pots left to replant the little peat pots where I planted more seeds. I am astounded at the number of flowers I got, Myrtle’s yard is going to look like a funeral home hahahaha! I will have flowers both inside and outside of the fence, some peas and beans and squashes that will grow up the fence…a bunch of flowers that are scary (or whatever) to mosquitoes along the fence…still have 2 big pots to fill…and will have mounds for some squash when they outgrow their homes. I just came in from the sun and heat with sunburn on my arms with a t-shirt on so I will probably have a real farmer’s tan too! I have about 40 pots done now…probably a dozen more to go. We also got the tomatoes and herbs planted in the raised beds, where I already have lettuces, kale, cabbage, radishes, and other herbs. I plan to have a busy but beautiful season! 🌱
